Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made a final election eve pitch to voters, explicitly telling his supporters “do not vote for me.”
Kennedy, an independent who unsuccessfully ran a third-party presidential bid, has spent the latter half of the campaign stumping for Donald Trump.
Just before Election Day, he’s trying to ensure that the anti-establishment coalition he built votes for Trump, the Republican nominee, especially in the two swing states of Michigan and Wisconsin where he’s still on the ballot.
“No matter what state you live in, do not vote for me,” Kennedy said in a pre-recorded video released on X on Monday.
Kennedy will appear on the ballot in Michigan and Wisconsin despite failed legal attempts to remove his name.
“Let’s get President Trump back in the White House and me to Washington so we can Make America Healthy Again, end the forever wars, and protect our civil liberties,” he said.
The clip was part of several recent efforts Kennedy has made to show his loyalty to the former Republican president, who is in a deadlocked race for the White House with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Kennedy’s biggest campaign hurdle was qualifying for 50 state ballots as an independent, which proved to be an extremely costly and complicated endeavor.
After withdrawing from the contest in August, the ex-Democrat has since tried to remove himself from all of the battleground ballots where his presence has shown in polls to help Harris defeat Trump.
He’s also become a surrogate in key swing states for Trump, who has promised Kennedy that he will have a prominent role in his administration around public health if he wins back control of Pennsylvania Ave.
