Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Launches The Teremana Mana Holiday House With Two Major Locations

When you think of holiday drinks, tequila might not be the first thing that comes to mind. “The Rock” wants to change that this year with the launch of the Teremana Mana Holiday House, a holiday experience that tequila lovers can visit in person in both New York and Los Angeles and online elsewhere.

“It’s incredibly rewarding seeing people come together to celebrate with Teremana, especially during the holidays.” says Dwayne Johnson, a self-described tequila-drinking, glass-clinking, big, brown, bald bundle of tattooed holiday cheer.

The Mana house is aiming to make your holiday planning go a little easier by offering holiday hosting ideas, seasonal tequila-based cocktail recipes, gift inspiration, and of course, prizes.

Visitors to the online experience can collect stamps throughout the virtual experience for a chance to win prizes and you can also visit the virtual experience multiple times and earn a new entry each day you visit. Prizes will also be available at the physical locations.

In terms of tequila, the Mana Holiday House has a cocktail generator where you can create a holiday tequila cocktail using Teremana.

To use the generator you’ll just need to specify whether you’re creating a drink for just yourself or a crowd, what the event is you’re serving the drink at, and what your preferred drink flavors are. Some options include citrusy, sweet, smoky, and savory.

I requested a sweet, fruity, and spicy cocktail for my Christmas celebrations and was given three options: The traditional People’s Margarita, a Holiday Edition of the same margarita, and a Ginger Spiced Paloma.

If those drinks didn’t strike my fancy, or I wanted to expand the menu, you can also ask the generator to give you some new options.

If you’re curious about that Paloma, here’s how to make it:

Ginger Spiced Paloma

  • 2 oz Teremana Blanco
  • ¾ oz Lime Juice
  • 1 oz Grapefruit Juice
  • ½ oz Ginger Syrup
  • Top with Ginger Beer

Instructions: Shake all ingredients except ginger beer with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wheel and crystallized ginger. Serves one.

Throughout the virtual experience, there are also places where you can learn both about tequila as a spirit and Teremana’s offerings more specifically as well as places to do things like donate a meal to someone in need or support bartenders.

And if you’re new to cocktail making, there’s a quick tutorial as well to help you make it happen.

And, of course, a spot where you can toast with The Rock himself after you’ve finished making that drink.

If you happen to be in New York or Los Angeles you’ll need to reserve a spot to visit the free pop-up. The in-person Mana Holiday House experience will be open from Thursday, November 30th through Friday, December 1st in Los Angeles (1024 Lexington Rd, Beverly Hills), and in New York City (632 Hudson St., NYC) on Tuesday, December 12th through Wednesday, December 13th.
