Rams Day 3 draft picks: Auburn running back Jarquez Hunter taken in fourth round

The Rams selected linebacker Chris Paul Jr. in the fifth round of the NFL draft with the 172nd pick.

They traded up from the 201st pick in the sixth round and also sent the Minnesota Vikings the 202nd pick.

Paul, 6 feet, 1 inch and 222 pounds, began his career at Arkansas but transferred to Mississippi last season. He had 88 tackles, including 11 for losses and 3 ½ sacks.

Paul is the first inside linebacker drafted by the Rams since Ernest Jones in 2021. He joins a position group that includes Omar Speights, Nathan Landman and Troy Reeder.

The Rams have one pick remaining in the seventh round.
