Recognized as one of the top business hotels in Spain, Hotel Arts Barcelona provides more than 3,000 square-feet of function space overlooking the Mediterranean in Arts 41, for board meetings and conferences as well as social events, weddings and celebrations.
But it just announced a new partnership, at its spa, with a leading under-the-radar Spanish company offering spa products made from crops from its own biodynamic orchard. With interest in spas and wellness right now, at an alltime-high, perhaps you should put Hotel Arts Barcelona on your radar screen. I have to say – before I boarded a luxury cruise a few years back, I stayed at this property, in the heart of Barcelona. I highly recommend it as a preferred hotel for an exceptional pre-cruise experience.
Hotel Arts Barcelona is an iconic five-star urban resort offering unparalleled views of the Mediterranean Sea and the city of Barcelona from its luxury spa. It recently announced a new partnership with ALQVIMIA, a Catalan company renowned for its holistic natural cosmetics and aromatherapy products. A sanctuary of wellness and beauty housed on the resort’s 43rd floor, 43 The Spa is the ideal place to rest body and mind and soak up the therapeutic effects of Alqvimia, which has been dedicated to improving people’s physical and emotional well-being for over three decades.
The renowned Spanish beauty brand offers a holistic beauty concept based on ancestral formulas and the therapeutic benefits of aromatherapy. Founded by Idili Lizcano, Alqvimia leverages the power of natural oils and botanical extracts in its products, using crops from its own biodynamic orchard or from the most prestigious in the world, to obtain the highest quality.
Situated 150 meters above sea level, 43 The Spa is bathed in natural light and inspires feelings of serenity and renewal. The spa features two water areas, both equipped with hydrotherapy pools, steam baths, dry saunas, ice fountains, relaxation areas, showers, terraces and eight exclusive treatment suites.
The robust treatment menu includes massages and facials with a wide variety of Alqvimia options. Among the body rituals are the “Queen of Egypt” treatment based on salts and mud from the Dead Sea and inspired by Cleopatra, and “Mother-to-Be,” a body ritual specially designed to relax the nervous system and prevent discomfort and the appearance of stretch marks in expectant mothers.
The “Eternal Youth” facial is an exclusive and luxurious treatment that combines Oriental massage techniques, the powerful light of white quartz, and the effective properties of the Eternal Youth pro-aging collection by Alqvimia. The two best sellers at the spa are “Citrus fruit joy ritual” body treatment and “Essentially beautiful” facial treatment.
United by a common philosophy of offering maximum excellence in all their services, the natural cosmetics brand based in Tortellà, a small village in La Garotxa, in the province of Girona, and the hotel located in a privileged area in the Olympic Port of Barcelona, where city meets sea, are committed to the local economy by prioritizing ethical and sustainable production in all their suppliers.
Hotel Arts Barcelona boasts stunning panoramic views from its unique location on the waterfront, in the heart of the city’s Port Olímpic neighbourhood. Designed by renowned architect Bruce Graham, Hotel Arts features 44 floors of exposed glass and steel, making it a prominent feature of Barcelona’s skyline. The waterfront hotel’s 455 rooms and 28 exclusive The Penthouses feature sleek, modern design complemented by an impressive 20th century collection of works by contemporary Catalan and Spanish artists. Its “Best Room in the House” is the penthouse weighing in at 1,000 Euro per night.
The hotel is also one of the premier culinary destinations in Barcelona with 2 Michelin-starred Enoteca helmed by the illustrious, five-Michelin-starred chef Paco Perez, gourmet boutique The Pantry stocked with more than 80 wine labels sourced from all over the region and a handpicked selection of deli products, and The Secret Pantry – a buzzy speakeasy spotlighting the flavors of the region through shareable dishes and regional wines.
If your cruise is disembarking from Barcelona – you just might want to check it out.
